Our favourite blog posts from this week!

There are only a couple of weeks until the new year, and if you are a 2015 bride who will be getting married this spring or summer, you will most likely be needing to make final decisions about some of your wedding planning. It can sometimes be quite overwhelming having to decide on final details so far in advance, and especially when some of the most important aspects of the wedding day such as your dress, bridesmaids dresses, and cake etc will only really materialise closer to your wedding date.

If you are still looking for inspiration, our favourite posts from this last week will hopefully inspire you to firm up on some of the decisions that you may not have yet decided on.

Love My Dress this week featured a post by Pocketful of Dreams who have been busy working on concepts they think will be particularly big trends for 2015 weddings. Whether you are looking for unique ideas, unusual colour combinations and just something that might separate your wedding from others, this post is packed full of fabulous ideas to get you motivated. From this post we can see that the floral design of wedding is going to be one of the biggest focal features of the day. Colour combinations, whether you choose soft pastels, monochromatic tones, or sticking with punchier colours, are all going to be brought together in a delicate whimsical way pulling away from the structured and formal arrangements that we have previously seen.

Staying with the idea that the flowers are going to be an important factor, Ruffled blog featured an exquisite post with some amazing bouquets and headpieces. This post is a great example of how you can combine bold modern colours with soft whimsical arrangements making the whole feel of this styled shoot soft and charming yet contemporary.

Another trend that has been on the rise particularly this last year and one that will most likely continue into 2015 is the idea of a ‘first look’. Would this be something that you would consider doing or would you prefer to stick with tradition and have you first look when walking down the aisle? A first look can be a wonderful thing to do - a magical moment shared just between you and your partner before saying ‘I do’. During your first look, this could be a great time to take your couple portraits with your photographer allowing your more time with your guests after the ceremony which could be a particularly good idea if there are time constraints.

What makes a wedding personal and unique really comes down the all the little details you specifically choose for your big day, and one of the many fabulously fun details is finding the perfect pair of wedding shoes. It is the one time where you shouldn't feel guilty about spending money on something you may only wear once but if you can't quite get your head around it, then this blog by One Fab day might inspire you to buy some gorgeous shoes that you could quite easily wear again (and again)!
